1. Enjoy The Experience

Make Your Patio Decorating a Self-care Experience.

To me, it is so relaxing to be around the flowers and colorful pottery that I selected to redo my own small patio. I made it a priority to set aside a weekend to search for my patio décor and have some “me time” for this excursion.

Think of recycled materials, for example; pallet furniture. Because of their freshness and naturalness, they are ideal for outdoor decoration and are also economical. You can even make them on your own. From a complete room to just a table or a spectacular armchair decorated with large and colorful cushions, you will achieve a special touch to the decoration of your garden.

2. A Small Table

A small table is perfect for decorating a quaint patio. You can find a table at your local thrift shop, or use a vase as a table by putting a large piece of wood or glass on top. Consider a makeshift table that you can create by using a crate or some other items that you can use from your garage, or repurposed from another room in your house.

3. Add Some Cushions

The advantage of placing cushions on your patio lounge or seating bench is that they can serve both as a comfort factor and can add a little splash of color to your outdoor decor. You can also stack several pillows on a bench to add elegance to the sitting area. If you have the skills and the time, consider throwing together your own customized style by sewing your own pillows.

4. Hang Christmas lights

I am not referring to the colored light bulbs. Use the bright white lights, which can be used to decorate all year round! The soft glow they emit will transform your small patio into a dream space! In the evening hours, these light add a nice ambiance.  You can string the lights along the awning or if you have a fence, intertwine them around the railing.

5. Add An Outdoor Rug

With so little space to cover, it’s worth decorating it with a beautiful outdoor rug. Choose a design that compliments the furniture. It doesn’t have to match…it could contrast, as well. Using a rug can serve a duo purpose;  it can enhance your patio and protect it.
