They say you should dress the part for the job. My summer job is to spruce up my porch and garden. Although I am not a great gardener, I do find peace and solitude while spending time in my yard. Next to meditating, spending time working in my sacred space is a peace that I can’t compare to anything else.

A pair of overalls would make my work clothes dress-appropriate. Of course, a T-shirt always works, and for the feet, I am opting for some bootie-style footwear that I found at Target. I purchased these overalls on Poshmark. With all the bending down and leaning over you want some loose-fitted clothing. I don’t like dragging yard dirt into my home, so a pair of garden shoes exclusively for my yard will work just fine.
I cringe at the fact that insects could fall from the trees and land on my head, so a nice cap makes for the perfect headwear. A nice floppy hat will also work double duty, and block out the sun.
Don’t forget the sunscreen. Black may not crack, but it can get skin cancer.
