Bucket lists are those desires that tend to be separate from your career goals, in most cases. I am happy to say that I have accomplished several desires that I placed on my bucket list over the years. One was to go to South Africa.
About 5 years ago, I visited Johannesburg, South Africa. It was a totally unexpected invitation that I will never forget. A friend had recommended me as a Speaker to speak to South African businesswomen. The 18-hour trip was well worth every second it took to get there.
Secondly on my list, I got to visit Martha’s Vineyard; another unexpected, totally unplanned vacation. Another call from a friend to see if I had an interest in participating in the Girl Friends Getaway. One of my closest friends and I had a great time.
Another was to travel first class, which again, thanks to the generosity of a friend, I made two trips by way of the luxury travel experience and the third was courtesy of a flight attendant who bumped us up at no extra cost. If you never had the opportunity to experience the roomy chairs, better quality and tasting food and a more relaxing ride, you should add this to your bucket list. It was everything you could expect and more.
One of the top things to do on my list for 2018 is to finish my HomeGirl CEO book. Yes, the book I started almost 10 years ago has to come to fruition in 2018. I also want to attend a taping of a couple of the national talk shows, specifically around the holidays to bring home some of those free gifts.
Being someone who is extremely modest, unpretentious and humble, the desires of my heart are not huge nor costly.
Next on my list is to visit 3 other cities that I intend on traveling to this year. Until writing this article, I never really thought that this homebody had traveling on her most wanted list.
Share with us your bucket list.
